Under general supervision of the Director of Housing Operations, this full-time non-exempt position performs a variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance of locks and lock systems at DHA sites. Work involves installs, repairs, rebuild, and services mechanical or electrical locking devices, cuts new or duplicate keys, using key cutting machine and special equipment: disassembles locks, such as padlocks, mail boxes, door locks and door jams, and repairs or replaces worn tumblers, springs and other parts in order to keep units and other Authority properties safe and secure. May keep records of company locks and keys.
Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent, and moderate experience in repairing locks and related hardware and previous experience with BEST lock systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification/Licensed Certified Registered Locksmith (CRL) preferred.
Able to work independently with strong work ethic and positive attitude, respectful with staff, residents and the public. Computer skills required include: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet. Physical dexterity with ability to climb and exert up to 25 pounds of force. Work in inclement weather.
