DHA Returns to “Standard Performer” Status
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has conducted its confirmatory review of the management of the Durham Housing Authority's Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program and determined that the agency is now in compliance with federal regulations. The agency's Section Eight Management Assessment Program (SEMAP) score was 72%, ranking the agency in Standard Performing status. Scores of below 60% rank a housing authority as "Troubled" and those of 90% or higher are rated as "High Performing."

"The staff at DHA has worked diligently to resolve the issues with this program," said CEO Dallas J. Parks. "We know that we must continue to improve the quality of our customer service and continue to strengthen some of our business processes, but this is great news that validates we're headed in the right direction."
