NOTICE - Public Hearing

The Housing Authority of the City of Durham will meet September 22, 2010 at its Central Office, Board Room, 330 East Main Street, 5:30 p.m. to receive input for the 2011 PHA 5-Year and Annual Plan. This document is comprised of a five-year plan setting forth the mission and the goals and objectives of the housing authority, as well as a much more detailed annual plan. The annual plan contains specific operational information and includes the following elements:

Eligibility, Selection and Admission Policies
Deconcentration
Wait List Procedures
Financial Resources
Rent Determination
Operations and Management
Grievance Procedures
Designated Housing for Elderly and Disabled Families
Community Service and Self-Sufficiency
Safety and Crime Prevention
Pets
Civil Rights Certification
Fiscal Year Audit
Asset Management
Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)
Hope VI, Mixed Finance Modernization or Development
Demolition and/or Disposition
Conversion of Public Housing
Homeownership Program
Project-based Vouchers
Capital Improvements
Housing Needs

Other Information as Required by Law
A draft of the PHA 5-Year and Annual Plan for Fiscal Year 2011 will be available starting July 23, 2010 for review at the Durham Housing Authority's Central Office, 330 East Main Street, or at the property management offices located in the McDougald Terrace, Oldham Towers, Cornwallis Road, J.J. Henderson, Morreene Road, Oxford Manor, and Main Street Townhomes communities, as well as posted here on the DHA website. The draft plan is available on the "Meeting Schedule" page, toward the bottom of the page under "Available Documents & Other Web Links."

All individuals interested in sharing comments about the draft plan are encouraged to attend the public hearing.
