Move In, Move Up, Move Out

The Authority offers several ways to help Durham residents who need to move into stable housing and work toward self-sufficiency. Through our public housing program, we assist families with low-cost permanent housing, resident support services and opportunities to enroll in job training, the family self-sufficiency program and much more. Through our Housing Choice Voucher program, formerly known as Section 8, qualified applicants can secure housing in the private market. For nearly all our customers, the dream of owning a home is available though our MoneySmart-based Homeownership Program.
