Project Uplift - Open to High School Juniors - Applications Due March 15th

Project Uplift Icon

Project Uplift is a special program that enables rising high school seniors to experience college life on Carolina's campus. Project Uplift seeks to engage participants in an immersive experience that connects them with UNC-Chapel Hill. Participants learn about the admissions and financial aid process, build meaningful connections with students from across the country, attend a culture show, and interact with Carolina students, faculty, and staff. Parents/guardians have the option to attend a parent panel, where they learn about academic and campus resources available to their student.

The cost to participate in Project Uplift is $50.

Applicants must complete the application in one sitting. To submit your application, you will need to complete 2-3 short answer prompts and upload a PDF copy of your unofficial transcript. Your transcript must include grades from 9th grade through the first half of 11th grade. Project Uplift will NOT accept grade reports, report cards, attendance reports, or progress reports.

All applications must be submitted online by 11:59 pm EST on March 15, 2024. To apply, click here.

The dates for Project Uplift 2024 are as follows:

  • Session 1: Saturday, June 1
  • Session 2: Saturday, June 8
  • Session 3: Saturday, June 22

Project Uplift is designed to allow students to experience learning in a variety of different university contexts, from large lectures to small seminars and, most important, from interactions with current Carolina students.
