DHA Black History: Joyce Thorpe Nichols

Durham Housing Authority Black History Month Spotlight.

Joyce Thorpe Nichols - First woman and the first Black woman to practice as a Physician Assistant in the United States. Nichols was also a DHA resident who later served on the Authority's Board of Commissioners.

Last summer, DHA and development partner Laurel Street Residential celebrated construction progress on the NEW Senior development "The Joyce" set to open this spring! #BlackHistoryMonth
